Fair play for a stronger community
Rules
The same rules apply to every player and every run. Read them before competing to keep the leaderboards fair and the community welcoming.
The basics
Core rules
Play legitimately
No cheats, hacks or deliberate use of bugs and exploits to gain an unfair advantage.
Use official versions
Use official Hytale builds and official BeatTheGoblins releases. Your game version, difficulty, plugins and asset packs must meet the requirements of the category you enter.
Do not manipulate runs
Do not alter game files or network traffic to gain an advantage. Do not forge, edit or interfere with timers, checkpoints, results or telemetry.
Do not interfere with others
No stream sniping or deliberate disruption of another player’s run. Solo runs must be played alone; team runs must use the team roster registered on the website before the run starts.
Respect the community
No harassment, hate speech, threats or targeted abuse. Treat other players respectfully in chat, team names and all community spaces.
Report issues responsibly
Report bugs, exploits and suspected rule violations with the run link and relevant evidence. Send technical details privately to the team. Do not publish instructions for abusing an exploit.
Fair play matters
Violations
Breaking these rules can lead to the following actions, depending on the severity and whether it happens repeatedly.
- Removal of affected runs from the leaderboards
- Temporary or permanent bans from competition
- Exclusion from community events
If you believe a decision is incorrect, contact the team with your run link and supporting evidence for review.
Allowed modifications
The following mods are allowed in Modded runs. All other rules still apply.

Extended Backpacks
Adds backpack upgrades with extra inventory slots, giving you more room for items and equipment.
